BOARD OF DENTISTRY REPORT
The January meeting was cancelled due to weather and the next one will be on April 7th.
LEGISLATIVE REPORT
HPV vaccination bill was pulled due to that bill getting lumped in with other vaccination bills with concerns over parental permission, etc. (which was never an issue with ours).
Naloxone bill states that if prescribing opioids over 3 days, then a script for naloxone would be necessary.
Hygienists bill is simply allowing live remote learning courses/webinars to count towards their in person CE requirement.
NEW ENDORSEMENT
YM Career Centers was approved.
WELLNESS REPORT
Number of providers is down, possibly due to COVID. This is expected to rise as deaths have risen.
TN is the only state to have this program available to RDAs, and one of five to extend it to RDHs as well.
The TDHA should be approached to contribute to the Wellness Foundation as well.
TREASURER'S REPORT
There will be a $25 consideration at the House of Delegates. There has not been an increase since 2017. We are still in the bottom 1/3 of states' dues. Had a motion in 2018 for an annual $5 increase been brought to the House floor, we would be in the exact same spot.
CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS REPORT
There are some wordsmithing tweaks for consideration at the House of Delegates on the TDA Relief Fund Trustees.
